What kind of softness are you in the mood for?

towelogy 101 | Lesson 02

Yarn count explained.

Yarn count tells us how thick or fine a yarn is.

In cotton yarn, a higher yarn count usually means a finer yarn, while a lower count usually means a thicker yarn. But for towels, higher is not always better. A towel needs volume, absorbency, softness, and durability, not just fine yarn.

The best towel comes from choosing the right yarn count for the right purpose. Too fine, and the towel may lose plushness. Too thick, and it may feel heavy or dry slowly. Towelogy is about finding the right balance.
