What kind of softness are you in the mood for?

towelogy 101 | Lesson 03

Carded vs. combed cotton.

Carded cotton and combed cotton may sound similar, but they create very different towels.

Carded cotton is brushed and roughly aligned before spinning. Combed cotton goes through an extra step that removes shorter fibers, neps, and impurities. This leaves longer, cleaner, and more even fibers behind.

That extra combing step helps create yarn that feels smoother, stronger, and more premium. For towels, this means a softer touch, cleaner surface, and better long-term feel.
